The current study aimed at assessing some physiological and biochemical changes in patients
with chronic renal failure (CRF) undergoing hemodialysis. It was achievedat Merzak general
hospital in the city of Merzak during the period from1\1\2017 to 2\11\2017 , (52) cases of
both sexes were monitored including (32)patients with chronic renal failure and a control
group of (20) healthy persons . Thestatistical analyses revealed a significant decrease (p<0.05)
in the concentration ofhemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV) , platelet count, and the
total leucocytescount in the patients with CRF compared with the control group . The
differentialleucocytes count exhibited a significant increase in the percentage of
neutrophils, monocytes and eosinophils ; while the percentage of lymphocytes
decreasedsignificantly (p<0.05) in the patients group The biochemical investigations revealed
asignificant increase (p<0.05) in the concentration of serum triglycerides, and a significant
decrease (P<0.05) in theconcentration of serum high density lipoproteins (HDL) and
theconcentration of aspartate& alanine transaminases (AST & ALT) in the CRF patients by
comparing withcontrol group .
In summary, the current study came to that chronic renal failure had affectedphysiological and
biochemical parameters under study .
