Libyan Journal of Medical Research is a multidisciplinary research, review and news journal. It covers a wide spectrum original work, epidemiology, public health, indigenous disease and stand reds of health care. One of its main aims is assure rapid publication of research papers dealing with experimental and clinical aspects of all medical areas as well as to encourage communications between members of the communities of health care.
In 2000, Libyan Journal of Medical Research was established by the Libyan authority (act 215, 2000). In that time, it is considered as an official medical journal issued by National Medical Research Centre and is a refereed scientific research journal. Its goal was to discuss, communicate and publish medical and biomedical data produced by Libyan researchers and scientists. The first number was issued in 1991 and Dr. Abdalmolla Shabban was editor-in chief. LJMR is one of the oldest medical journals in Libya (25 years old). Now, there are almost four journals with more than 5 years history (old) publish medical and biomedical articles in Libya. These are: Sebha Medical Journal (2006, University of Sabha), Libyan Journal of Medicine (2006, international scale) Libyan Medical Journal (ex- JMJ, Libyan Board) and Tripolitani Medical Journal (2009, University of Tripoli). Over the last years, LJMR published eight volumes and about 15 numbers. Recently, we (editorial board) plan to recognize our journal internationally and to be cited. We got the ISSN according to ISO: 3292 for journal (Libyan J Med Res ISSN: 2312 5365) and on web site www.LJMR.com.ly to be online access. We think, on one way, that these will help us to be cited internationally and may have an impact factor for Libyan J Med Res.
